Pastel Beauty
Lady in the Garden by Paul Peel
Pastel beauty, ribbons with lace
surround her face
of innocence
in his absence.
Her eyes filled with a love drenched light,
far from finite.
Her heart awaits,
not knowing fate.
For all she wants and heaven knows,
trouble bestows
her bachelor
to another.

Wow, Jo. I really like the way this one reads. I think you captured her perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI know how this lady feels.
ReplyDeletegentle and beautiful poem
ReplyDeleteSo soft, yet so tragic... I guess pastel doesn't ensure that grace is always rewarded.
ReplyDeleteYour words capture the picture beautifully!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful rendition. Lesson to be learned too... if you sit around waiting that's what you'll do.
