Is it spring yet? Sigh!
Nature's Heart
Birds await
perched on swaying trees
whisper chirps
welcoming
sultry nods
of approaching Spring
twirling in her grace.
Mating time.
Flamboyancy reigns
incessant
strut clucking
chitter chat
species preservation dance
feathery array.
At night fall
dignity bows in.
Bird chorals
brush tree tops.
Angel chants
swirling in magical clouds.
Hymns from Nature's heart.

Oh, indeed, I love the spring. On the way to work this morning I slowed to appreciate the myriad of morning songs.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful Jo. It's trying to get here but today it is still snowing! It's got to be the longest winter we've had in a long, long time!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to hear it from a poet's perspective.
ReplyDeleteWalking my chocolate lab this evening, your poem reminds me of the song birds I heard in the woods. Spring is beginning, a nice poem to bring her in!
