Victorian

On the Porch
by William Chadwick

Victorian

She's here again, quick to undo
anyone who
sings soft and sweet
knelt at my feet.

She lurks in corners of my heart
playing the part
of my conscience
moral nonsense.

Chasing away all I care for,
blasts of rancor
dispelling hearts
before love starts.

  1. I loved the rhyme and the rhythm. And the idea of using a picture as a muse, I need to try that.

  2. Good stuff, Jo; very unique take. Amazing how differently we interpret things.
