surrounded by
steps of grace, cry of wild,
God's beauty in animal's gaze,
pristine.

Looks like the deer in your neighborhood are healthy...definately the most graceful monarch of the woods
ReplyDeleteYep, they're healthy. They mow down all the vegetation, i.e., flowers, garden, etc., in sight. If they weren't so beautiful, I'd be really mad.
ReplyDeleteAt the time, I did not know how to feel when my husband told me he could have returned home, after spreading a load of manure on a field one freezing cold winter's day, with the carcass of a deer on the tractor. Three hundred and some acres of land, a barn full of cows, a few pigs in the sty and yet, between an occasionsl slaughter of an old cow,or a pig, meat had become, at times, a scarcity at the dining table. One evening we ate a groundhog I shot that afternoon. Don't feel sorry for the groundhog. The holes in which they made their homes were easy traps for both man and animal. When It came to the deer my husband could have shot, I have to admit to being more than a bit proud of his love for the deer who made our farm their refuge.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo Jo, almost looks like a statue so perfect! Another pristine cinquain! :)
