Blue Lake Rhapsody

Mallard Duck by John James Audubon

Blue Lake Rhapsody

(A huitain, 8 lines, 8 syllables/line, rhyme scheme: ababbcbd)

Kings and Queens of lake waters blue
insouciant fanning display
splendid colors, every hue
among grasses green, ducks at play
fluttering quackers, sunny day
quick steps like elegant dancers
water music, nature ballet
winds strumming in violin streams.

  6. Don't know how to top all you quackers! My quackers are stil in tact I think!!

I love to watch ducks move like
"like elegant dancers," They seem so peaceful, as they glide across the water! Thanks for posting the form! You worked it well.

Simply beautiful Jo. For some reason, that old joke my Dad use to ask us when we were kids popped into my head. "What do you get when you cross 2 ducks with a cow?" And we all know it's Quackers and Milk! Haven't thought about that in years. Thanks.
