Fanned Out by Charles Dana Gibson
Dreams Gone Black
Thunder faces, hearts in despair
it's over, no more games to play.
So lost, so sad, pure angst laid bare
Earth spins out an unnoticed day
as we sit, motionless display.
Fanned out, our field of dreams gone black.
Waiting for another game day
Sitting here until it comes back.

Must be Cub fans, Jo, but maybe not this year! I love the two different approaches you've taken from the one visual inspiration. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteI agree. They remind me of the morning crew that gathers at McDonald's. Very good, Jo.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Shirley, one time I did an art show in a mall, and there was a bench right beside me. These guys were there! Did you know old people tell a lot of knock knock jokes!
ReplyDeleteDan, two words: Pittsburgh Pirates!
