shoe shine man

smeared
black wax
on empty shoes.

zombie
just arrived
dirty clumping steps.

silence
in rhythmic
chit chat galore.

buffed
to life
as shiny mannequin.

on
thin air
dusty street corner.

mister clean
shoe shine man.

love it. we've got a local guy who walks the downtown streets yelling, "shoe (long pause) shine!" it's very musical.

  4. nice ode
don't recall ever having my shoes shined
for that matter, I only recall seeing one and that was in an airport
small southern towns where all the rednecks walk around barefoot...
not much need for shoe shines I reckon
